Expect to see a concept version of the upcoming BMW M5 at the Shanghai Auto in April - along with a 5 Series hybrid and the production version of the 6 Series Coupé, which will be almost identical to the concept shown at the 2010 Paris show.
The production version of the new M5 (BMW's code names are F10 for the sedan and F11 for the Touring) is expected to premier later in 2011, with a tweaked version of the 4.4-litre, twin-turbo V8 producing about 600bhp.
And no, Cyril, the picture above is not a sneak preview of the BMW stand at Shanghai, it's a very clever CGI rendering using details gleaned from a series of spy shots taken during cold-weather testing in northern Europe.
The 5 Series hybrid - also expected to go on sale before the end of 2011 - will have BMW's classic 225kW, twin-turbo, three-litre straight six, coupled to a 40kW electric motor, giving it a useful power boost in foot-flat mode as well as the ability to sneak around in zero-emission, silent "stealth" mode.
