Nissan has just unleashed its much hyped Murano convertible SUV,the first drop top SUV ever made.
Yes folks, the crossover realm is set to get its strangest addition ever with the release of the world's first all-wheel drive crossover convertible. These teaser images show the side profile of the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet, ahead of its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 17th November.
What's more, this is not just a strange concept car aimed at wowing the crowds - this is a production vehicle that will go on sale in the United States early next year
.
According to Nissan, the vehicle will have enough interior space for four adults and sufficient room for golf bags in the boot, even with the top down.
Nissan has not released any technical detail as yet, but the familiar 191kW/336Nm 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, mated to Nissan's CVT gearbox, is worth betting on as the power source.
In design terms, the CrossCabriolet is very much a love child of the Murano and 370Z, with the front section of the former joined by a design that resembles a pumped up version of Nissan's Roadster from the A pillars back. Do you agree with its designers that it's a breakthrough in concept and design, or is it the answer to a question nobody asked? You be the judge.
