Lambo's all new super V12 engine..can out gun any current Ferrari engine.

good news from the makers of the raging bull; Italian supercar marque Lamborghini has spilled the beans on its new V12 as well as the seven-speed automated manual transmission that it will be mated to in next year's Murcielago successor codenamed the Jota.

The  ear splitting,high-revving, lightweight engine displaces 6.5-litres and pushes out a massive 715 bhp at 8250rpm and 690Nm at 5500rpm, while also keeping emissions relatively decent - by supercar standards at least.

The V12 has a classic cylinder bank angle of 60 degrees, and thus an amazingly compact power package - the power unit measures only 665mm from top to bottom, including the intake system and it weighs just 235kg
.

The maximum piston speed at 8250rpm is only 21 meters per second, considerably less than for the Murciélago's power unit.

The combustion chambers were carefully engineered to achieve optimum tumble and combustion of the fuel/air mixture. At 11.8:1, the compression ratio is extremely high.  Ferrari needs to respond to this,as these figures can out gun any Ferrari currently available.
